The bones of the wrist joint can be roughly divided into the radius bone, which is the bone on the thumb side of the arm, the ulna bone, which is the bone on the finger side of the arm, and the carpal bone, which is the palm side. The radius and the carpal have a structure where the bones are firmly connected, but there is a gap between the bones of the ulna and the carpal, which makes the structure unstable as a joint. When a TFCC is injured, a TFCC injury occurs when a linear force is applied to the palm and a torsional force is applied inward. The radius and ulna are usually the same length, but some people have a slightly longer ulna. Even a slight force may exert force on the TFCC and cause harm to such a person.
